- Orchard Road Studios, New Recording
- It's official, Ovadya is going into the studio to put together an ep, maybe 5 to 7 tracks, since we have the happy problem of demand from several interesting places. So at the end of August look for more new tunes on the internet, including new material and completely new arrangements, as well as for sale.
- New tune (first of many!)
- Check out the new uploaded tune, (D'ror Yikrah) an Iraqi Jewish tune from the tenth century. (And of course no copyright problems there!) We added an original third part to the song as well. We hope this will be the first of many new tunes or new arrangements to come.
Again, much THANKS to Chris Johnson/Orchard Road Studios and his vision for recoding this song for us!

- Animals Gig June 8th, 2007:
We had a great gig (thanks, Murray Weiner), great sound, and of course great captive turnout. It was a pleasure to play and connect with Animals fans who seemed interested in the Ovadya sound.
The Animals and Eric Burdon came on playing a mix of their well-known tunes, artfully weaving them into new arrangments ("Jam Band" ish) and presenting Eric Burdon's latest CD. A great night overall.

April 9, 2007: Ovadya is pleased to announce that we will be working with Murray Weiner, head of EMG. Murray has seen success with artists and bands from complete bookings, total event management to helping bands get signed to major labels.- Ovadya opening 4 Eric Burdon (of The Animals)
- On June 8th Ovadya gets to open for Eric Burdon of Animals fame. Should be pretty mind blowing. The venue is in Schaumburg, so all you suburbanites, come on down! (and city peops too.)

- We shared the stage with a host of other talented artists talented artists (theater. visual, music, dance, etc) (Shhh don't tell them I don't have any estrogen left...)

We have contacted Six Degrees label in San Fran (thanks Alon) and hope to be following up with a live CD of new tunes (the more Mid-East/hard rock with textures and dynamics/ trance material we have been doing that busts out live [got that? There'll be a quiz next Tuesday]).

Regardless of response, Six Degrees is (we believe) part of a wave that promotes fusions of "World" music and the best of the West. (Read their mission statement.) Samples in general would be mixing hip-hop with North African material, or Hassan Hakhmoun who is influenced by Moroccon tribal musical traditions and the likes of Jimi Hendrix.

Ovadya sees its own "kishkes" veering toward (some) traditional Jewish material, general Mideast influences AND what we hope is accessible, addictive original tunage from us.

- Ovadya is planning to explore another side of its music including Deanne's talents, namely a CD or EP exploring either more Mid East rock/trance, combines with some traditional Jewish music, but not like you've ever heard it.
