M Hurley, Words & Music
It was a Saturday afternoon ("Shabbos") and I was walking, humming having this kind of internal rant--a disjointed dialogue with G-d, wondering about the Messiah business. A song about anti-Semitism, history and living in the gap.

I still believe you
It’s just not that easy
There a lot of things—point the other way....
I read in history and that crap—it gets me queasy
And you know you gotta let them
Get their say?
And I’m dancing on another side
Tap-dancing pair of eyes
If I had wings you know I would fly, I’d
Be in invisible disguise
You never left and
You never abdicated
I just don’t know who you became
There in black is sometimes white—
And the mix can’t be debated
Still I’d like a little clarity, all the same
And I’m dancing on another side
Tap-dancing pair of eyes
If I had wings you know I would fly, I’d
Be in invisible disguise
Cuz words are words are words are words
Word’s a tiny little thing
I really would have preferred
A carrot—minus string
So bring it all down
So bring it all down
So bring you near
So bring it all down
(We’re
Ready to hear)
